The New York Caribbean Carnival (also known as the West Indian American Labor Day Parade) in Brooklyn is a celebration and expression of Caribbean cultural pride. The festival features five full days of activities, which culminate in a massive parade that attracts a million audience members every year. With participants that represent various Caribbean nations, spectators are treated to a range of traditional cultural displays including steel band music, calypso and soca music.
